WHEN I GOT THE CALL—I was standing in the living room with my mom. We were trying to figure out where to place two accent chairs because I had just moved into a new home. That's when I got the call from a producer in NYC.

She told me to pack my bags, I was flying to Los Angeles to pitch my company to SHOPIFY.  She told me that my company was one of four businesses that was selected from a nationwide search to do an Elevator Pitch to SHOPIFY, that is in the process of opening up stores across North America, and was offering the prize that winners of an elevator pitch would get ten hours of business coaching and the opportunity for your product to be placed in their stores. 

 I was so excited and yet...okay, let's be honest, freaked out too! 

Although, I am born and raised in Los Angeles, I actually live most of the time in Toronto. I know...it's complicated. My mom was actually staying with me at my new home in Toronto, visiting from LA, when we got the news! It's funny because my mom was visiting from LA and she had to stay in Toronto while I took a last minute flight home to LA to pitch on MSNBC. It was a crazy time! Moving boxes and all!

I was also freaked our for another reason...

I was scared. I wasn't sure if I could do it. However, one of my mottos I'm life is FACE THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYHOW! Let me tell you..That's exactly what I did! I gathered up all my courage to try and land the deal of a lifetime!
